How Did an AI-Generated Image Start the Trend?=
Fast forward to September 2023 or probably a little earlier, not that it matters but it was in pretty recent history and 100 years after 1923. An artist using artificial intelligence (AI) to generate an image of a giant standing with a crowd of Afghani men in the the city of Kandahar, Afghanistan. The image quickly went viral, and people started creating their own AI-generated images of giant things in Kandahar in 1923. This was particularly so on the Facebook group Cursed AI where the trend to get AI to generate “Giants of Kandahar in 1923” went viral in September 2023 and were being generated using many Artificial Intelligence different applications including, Midjourney, DALL-E, Google Imagen in Canva, plus the other popular ones listed at the end of the article below.
